1. Introduction & Privacy Philosophy

Love Compass ("we," "our," "the app"), operated by GJR Publishing, is an intimate direction-finding application designed exclusively for two consenting individuals.

We are committed to a strict zero-knowledge, privacy-first architecture. We do not collect your real legal name, email address, phone number, passwords, social media accounts, address book, or browsing history. Accounts are completely anonymous and bound directly to your physical device.

2. Information We Collect

3. Location Data Handling & Protection

• On-Demand Access Only: Location is queried only when you or your partner interact with the app or trigger a direction refresh. We never perform continuous background tracking.
• Permission Scope: Love Compass requests only "When In Use" (iOS) or foreground location access (Android). We never request "Always" background location.
• Great-Circle Bearing Calculation: Raw coordinates are processed on our secure server to compute geodesic distance and compass bearing. Raw latitude/longitude coordinates are never sent across the network to your partner or plotted on a map.
• No Historical Location Trails: The database maintains only a single row per user representing the single latest coordinate fix. Each update permanently overwrites the previous fix.
• Instant Severance Purge: When either partner taps "End Bond", all partner-linked location coordinates and bond states are permanently deleted immediately.

4. Anti-Stalkerware & Mutual Consent Transparency

In strict compliance with Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.2 and Google Play Commercial Spyware policies:

• Mutual Consent Mandate: A bond can only be established through a verified multi-step pairing handshake between two consenting devices.
• Persistent In-App Indicator: Whenever an active bond exists, Love Compass displays a persistent, visible status indicator in the app informing both users that the bond is active and showing when coordinates were last updated.
• No Covert Operation: Love Compass cannot be hidden, disguised, or run invisibly.
• Unilateral Severance: Either partner can terminate the bond instantly at any time without requiring the other party's permission.

5. Third-Party Service Providers (Sub-processors)

We share limited data with trusted infrastructure providers solely to operate the app:

• Google Cloud Platform (Google LLC): Backend API hosting (Cloud Run) and PostgreSQL database hosted in Sydney, Australia.
• Apple Inc. (APNs): iOS push notification delivery.
• Firebase (Google LLC): Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for Android push notifications.
• RevenueCat Inc.: In-app purchase receipt validation and cross-platform entitlement verification.

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not engage in cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

6. Your Privacy Rights & Data Deletion

• In-App Data Export: Export your stored data as JSON anytime via Settings → Download My Data.
• In-App Account Deletion: Permanently delete your account, coordinates, and bond history via Settings → Delete Account.
• Web Data Deletion Request: If you no longer have the app installed, submit a deletion request via our web contact form at https://www.gjrpublishing.com.au/contact.html or by emailing support@gjrpublishing.com.au.

Deletion Timeline: Active database records and location data are purged immediately. Remaining database backup snapshots are completely purged within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Love Compass is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. Contact us at support@gjrpublishing.com.au if you believe data from a minor has been collected.
